ABOUT THIS LISTENING MODE
Local music radio starts with files you already own or are allowed to play. Choose a folder or a set of audio files, set your bulletin dial, and Mochi turns that browser session into a personal station.
Mochi reads and plays the audio files you select directly in the browser. The files are not uploaded to Mochi, and choosing them does not give the site permanent access to the rest of your device.
Folder selection is available in supporting browsers. Elsewhere, choose individual audio files instead.
Choose news, weather, both, or neither. Set a length and cadence for each bulletin, select the subjects worth covering, and decide whether spoken updates may interrupt a track or should wait for its end.
Mochi prepares scheduled editions only while your local music is actively playing.
Local playback is useful when you already have a carefully kept music library, want a full Mochi experience without connecting a streaming account, or simply prefer a more private listening path.
Playback support depends on the audio formats your browser can decode. If a file does not appear or play, converting it to a widely supported format may help.
Mochi is still a web app. Closing the tab ends access to the selected files, and phones may suspend browser audio when the screen locks or another app takes over.
For the most reliable scheduled station, keep the Mochi tab open and the device awake enough for browser audio to continue.
